Liesbeth Houtman was born in Rhoon, a village just below Rotterdam. She has been an Office Manager at De Vroedt & Thierry Executive Search & Leadership Consultancy since 2014. After completing her pre-university education, she started studying law at the University of Amsterdam. From there, she worked for over 2 years as a flight attendant at KLM. The same company discovered her analytical skills and offered her training as an analyst-programmer. Liesbeth then worked for 5 years at KLM’s automation for the Black-Box and engine department. Due to her great interest in Human Resource Management, she joined the Human Resources department of the KLM Corporate Division in 1995. In addition to her work in personnel matters, she has supervised the new personnel information system for this division. When her children went to primary school, Liesbeth stopped at KLM and began working part-time at Kika.
‘During my time at KLM’s HR department, I learned how important it is for everyone to get the best out of themselves. There is no single best job for everyone. It all depends on a person’s profile in terms of who the individual is and what drives him or her.
